WHAT?
Mentoring and Tutoring

WHY?
To offer a community-based program for students who are achieving below their actual potential. Goals are to increase academic self-confidence, provide a consistent relationship with an adult and model Christian love.

WHO?
Students in grades K-8 who reside in 55413 and 55418 zip code areas are invited to attend.

HOW?
Each child is paired with one caring adult mentor. Mentors are screened by the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and personal references are required. Mentors are paired to provide transportation of students to and from tutoring.
One hour is designated to strengthen reading and math skills. We work closely with the public schools. Weekly reports are sent to teachers and parents. Following tutoring there is an optional Bible Club. |

WHEN?
One-by-One meets Tuesday and Thursday nights from 6:30-8:00pm from October to the middle of May (students attend only one night). Special nights during the year include a Holiday Dinner, Parent’s Visitation Nights and a Spring Celebration. Mentors maintain regular contact with the family and periodically arrange special outings with their student.
